Vassilis Gavalas is a political affairs and communications consultant, with experience in government and the think tank sector. He is Policy Advisor at Delphi Economic Forum as well as head of communications and press secretary to the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance of the Hellenic Republic (youngest government advisor at the time appointed). Basil was previously head of communications at DIKTIO – Network for Reform in Greece and Europe, one of Greece’s leading think tanks. With an academic background in international relations and journalism, Basil has worked with major foundations in Greece (such as The C. Karamanlis Institute for Democracy), was head of communications and spokesperson of the Greek Government’s campaign for the post of Secretary-General of the OECD (Greece’s first campaign for the top job of a major IO) and has closely cooperated with two former European Commissioners. He is a Board Member of Greek House Davos while regularly working with government officials and candidates in enhancing their communication efforts. Basil has contributed book reviews and op-eds on current affairs to some of Greece’s major publications (Kathimerini, Athens Review of Books, etc.) and has published one book, with one more being currently in press.
